Dr. Denice Evans-Sheppard is a dynamic educator, historian, and cultural leader whose work embodies the spirit of hope and courage through storytelling, preservation, and community engagement. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Oyster Bay Historical Society, where she has advanced inclusive historical programming since 2017—partnering with schools, libraries, and museums to ensure that the diverse narratives shaping Long Island are recognized, taught, and celebrated.
Through every endeavor, Dr. Evans-Sheppard brings history out of the shadows—encouraging audiences, including those at the Ethical Humanist Society, to reflect, connect, and move forward with renewed purpose, hope, and courage.
