Mel Haber - Discussion of a Dilemma: What Would You Do? (HYBRID)

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS – Discussion of a Dilemma: What would you do?

This Sunday, April 27, I, Mel Haber, will be leading a program called, Discussion of a Dilemma: What would you do? Although I could draw the dilemmas from a long list that Arthur Dobrin has accumulated, I would prefer to have the dilemmas come from members of our Society. So I am asking for a few members to come to the podium one at a time on Sunday, each of whom would explain the dilemma that you faced, ask people in the audience what they would have done, and then finally state what you did and why.

Please let me know no later than Thursday, April 24, if you would like to be a volunteer. You can reach me by phone (718) 279-3143, or by email, melhaber@verizon.net Thanks.

Mel Haber has had many careers in his lifetime. He was an accountant for nine months, and then a substitute teacher for a few years in NYC schools. That led to going to Boston University’s School of Education and earning an Ed.D. degree so he could teach people how to teach English. Failing to get tenure at one of the campuses of Penn State in 1980, he began his own business teaching business writing workshops to people in corporations and government agencies.

From 2013, when he retired, he has offered music programs at libraries, colleges, and organizations. As a member of The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island since 1999, he has also presented musical programs of all kinds, including programming music for Sunday programs.
